A 'Canny' design solution for the luxury market

Imagine taking the angst and stress out of home building and replacing it with the certainty of an architectural, luxury home designed to meet every conceivable need and delivered at a fixed price. While this might sound like a 'pipe-dream' to some, for one Melbourne family it has been their reality.

After buying what was a run-down double storey rental home in Robinson Road, Hawthorn, this growing family set about imagining what could be. They knew they wanted to live in a contemporary home with high-end finishes and features and had already decided that a knock-down and rebuild was the only real option for them.

After a chance dinner invitation to a Lubelso by Canny Group home in Malvern, this couple knew they had found the home-style they were looking for and contacted Canny to see what was possible on their home-site.

Much to their surprise and delight, Canny had recently launched a new Lubelso home design to complement their existing range of luxury homes. Launched in 2012, the award winning Lubelso range, incorporates architectural and luxury elements normally associated with high-end custom builds such as three-metre high ceilings, extensive window walls, seamless integrated custom cabinetry and the latest German technologies.

Because the Lubelso range combines the advantages of Canny's architectural quality with the affordability of pre-designs, Canny clients enjoy the certainty of knowing in advance the price, timing and design of their new home. And now, thanks to a more cost efficient floor plan in this latest Lubelso design, the purchase price has been cut by 20%, making it one of the first designs available from Lubelso for less than $1 million.

For this growing family it was the design and peace of mind they were looking for and today they are settled-in and enjoying their four bedroom, two bathroom (plus powder room) home.

On entering the home, you are immediately struck by the ceiling height, which at three metres gives the home a wonderful sense of space and light. From here, as you walk through the home, you will see that the spaces are carefully arranged to provide a connected mix of private and living zones. The family is able to spread themselves across the open plan kitchen / dining / living areas which are also connected to the alfresco area via full height sliding doors. The ground floor plan offers a separate living room with two private courtyards and a study accessed via a large full height pivot door specifically located near the home's entry to accommodate the work from home client. Upstairs on the first floor, the master bedroom is located at one end and is entered through an ante room, adding a greater sense of separation and sophistication. The other end of the first floor holds three generous bedrooms all connected to a well-proportioned rumpus room.

Throughout the home, the colour palette, fixtures and fittings reflect the clean, neutral and organic tones associated with Scandinavian-inspired interiors and deliver a look and feel that is not trend focused, but timeless and elegant...the perfect backdrop for the owners artwork and furniture.
