Docker St, Richmond

This stunning new build by The Domicile Group maximizes every inch of its compact inner city Richmond block. Architecture firms Padarc and Neil Architecture were both involved in the design of this impressive contemporary residence. The resulting family home consists of a three level house plus roof top terrace and space saving fully integrated car stacker.

The exterior of this meticulously crafted home features large ground floor windows together with vertical metal and timber cladding. The interiors have been exquisitely put together by Domicile's styling arm. A high end monochrome palette is executed to perfection with texture, detail and interest. Timber highlights and Moroccan tiles are also a consistent theme throughout.

At ground level, there is an open plan living, kitchen and dining area that extends seamlessly out to the courtyard and pool. Polished concrete floors feature and the joinery has been expertly conceived to maximize storage and design with both stylish open shelving and functional concealed storage.

The kitchen has a sleek, sophisticated look with integrated appliances and dark benchtops and stools. Central to the ground floor is a courtyard designed by Eckersley Garden Architecture which features lush greenery and succulents in oversized pots and a custom made green wall. This courtyard includes grating at ground level that cleverly facilitates light to the basement courtyard below.

A nine metre infinity edge pool features at the rear of the property and the use of Moroccan tiles on the side of the pool makes for a tranquil outlook from the kitchen, dining and courtyard areas.

At basement level, a lighter, more neutral palette has been deftly executed. The basement level enjoys access to natural light via two courtyards and includes a rumpus with home theatre, wine storage, study and three generous bedrooms. In addition, ingenious circular 'skylights' in the bathroom filter light through the base of the swimming pool above. The courtyard, which provides light to all three bedrooms, also features beautiful greenery and the serenity of a fish pond.

The basement level also features timber battening and artfully selected wallpapers. Arthur Slenk music sheet collage wallpaper is displayed in the study and rumpus, while each of the bedrooms features patterned wallpaper in a signature shade for each child.

At first floor level the colour palette subtlety shifts to a darker, moodier, sophisticated style featuring superbly selected soft furnishings. The master bedroom suite includes a sitting area, smoked mirrors and ensuite. The ensuite includes a beautifully finished raked ceiling over a freestanding bath. The first floor sitting area includes stairs up to a rooftop terrace which delivers a fantastic vantage point to enjoy magnificent Richmond and city views.
